About Nicole

I love helping students succeed in their goals and feel confident.

I was in the middle of a career change and started teaching Spanish, French and English to kids through Berlitz part time while I was studying. I ended up really enjoying it, and it turned into a career.

I have a Masters in Education. I'm fluent in English, Spanish (near-native) and French, and I have taught all three languages. I have been teaching languages for 15 years to students from all over the world, ranging from total beginners to PhD level.

About the lesson

I like to meet with the students for a few minutes to assess their levels, establish some goals and see if we can collaborate. It takes a few sessions to really get a sense of the students learning style and aptitudes, so I start out with a general idea and then tweak the lessons as I go along. After one month, we check back in and talk about how we feel the classes are going and make any adjustments that we need to make.

The majority of my students have been young adults and adults although I have taught children as well. They have been working primarily on Academic or Business English.

Have a conversation with the person, and see if you feel comfortable and be willing to commit to a month to see how the relationship and classes go. Trust the teacher to facilitate the process.

I love music and art. I went to a great music event in Los Angeles that had both together.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1) What is your motivation? (What is your goal and why?)
2) How much time are you able/willing to dedicate per week?
3) How do you feel about homework?
4) How do you feel about recording yourself for practice and/or me recording you to gauge progress?

I typically charge $30/hour. If the student plans to meet more than once a week and will pay the month in advance (with the classes to be taken within a maximum of 5 weeks), I can bring the hourly rate down a bit.
