About Elizabeth

Hi, I'm Liz. I really enjoy working with students to help them develop confidence and deepen their knowledge. I've taught Spanish in the elementary classroom and have tutored through grade 10. I love grammar! And partnering with students to empower them to achieve their goals. I'm a certified life coach as well. :)

It's wonderful to witness my students' a-ha moments! As a life coach and a tutor I help guide and empower my students to set goals in their learning, break down the steps to get there, and take action. I enjoy seeing their confidence grow as they master the material that once challenged them.

I have a Masters (M.A) in Childhood Education from Teachers College, Columbia Universtiy. I taught Spanish (K-5th) in the classroom for 11 years. I've tutored or privately taught Spanish to students ranging from Pre-K to 10th grade. I've also taught other subject matter to students privately/tutoring. I also taught Science Center (enrichment) to K-3 for 3 years. I had a NY State certification in Childhood Education. I have a certificate in Instructional Technology, so I am very comfortable with teaching online utilizing various platforms and applications. I am also a certified life coach, so I help empower people to achieve their goals.

About the lesson

It's a co-creating, collaborative process! First we get to know each other a little, then we talk about what challenge they're facing, and how we can work together to empower them to learn the material and feel confident they really understand it, and how I can best support them in that. Then we dive into the material at hand.
