About Ryan

Get Better Spanish Grades!

✅ Pass Exams ✅ Raise GPA ✅ Graduate on Time

Hi, I'm Ryan, 👋 a Spanish tutor for high schoolers. I help High School students pass Spanish examsand improve Spanish grades. Together we can bring your child's grades from failing to passing in time for their next Spanish exam and get them the grades they need for High School graduation!

I'm Michigan-based but tutor online for ANYONE, no matter where you live.

For me, speaking Spanish for my adult life has unlocked other ways of thinking and experiencing other cultures. Because I studied Spanish in high school and college, and majoring in Spanish linguistics, I was able to spend 5 months living in Spain (at the University of Deusto, Bilbao) and I studied 1-on-1, for an entire month, with a private tutor in Antigua, Guatemala.

Not only does speaking other languages allow me to travel the world with greater ease, I also get to interact with others here at home in the United States, as the number of Spanish-speakers increases year after year, decade after decade. I can't tell you the number of times it not only comes in handy to speak Spanish; but also, the fun it is to speak, the people I've been able to meet, and the extra edge speaking Spanish has given me professionally through the years.

A Life-Long Skill

I am eager to share the tools, strategies, and love for Spanish with you or your child. If you do the work early, the more it will benefit you in the long run.

I love sharing my passions. I am also a former piano instructor, and have taught languages on and off through the years (even Italian!). Teaching is at the heart of who I am, and I can't wait to work with you or your child.

About the lesson

Students set the agenda. Students sometimes have small 'holes' or 'gaps' in their understanding of languages. With a few sessions, I help to identify what those are, and reinforce those skills that the student already has. Because students generally are already in a curriculum, I come "on-board" as a companion to help them through the work or goals already set for the student at school.

Your greatest asset in learning Spanish is VOCAB. Vocabulary words are your TOOLS for gaining success in speaking, reading, and FLUENCY in a foreign language.

I have a strategy called "10-in-10", which students use to commit TEN vocab words to their long-term memory in TEN minutes or less. I created a video of this strategy that you can get for free if you visit HighSchoolSpanishTutor.com. My gift to you!
