I am a student just like you all! I love tutoring because I know I am making a difference by helping people better understand material and overcome their academic struggles.

I started tutoring my junior year when one of my Mom's students was struggling with Spanish. I quickly grew to love being part of the reason her student was able to succeed in class, continuing to pick up a couple other students this year. It makes me so happy to see my students start to become more and more independent learners, eventually able to set study habits for themselves. I'm here for you and can go at whatever pace you need:)

Whether you want to meet with me once to help explain a certain topic or want weekly help, I am open!

I started when my mom told me one of her Spanish students was struggling. I wanted to help out and met with her weekly; I was able to help her understand the language and keep her on track, making it so that even when she wasn't meeting with me, she continued to apply good study habits to her routine. It made me so so grateful to be a part of her growth process, and made me realize that tutoring is not just a job for me but something I enjoy.

I have always been a committed student, currently holding a 4.25 gpa. My math courses have included Trigonometry, Calculus basics, and am currently enrolled in AP stats, so I am more than fit to help with basic algebra.

As for Spanish, I have been taking honors courses for 4 years and am enrolled in AP Spanish Languange and culture. The summer before junior year, I also did a two week study abroad in Spain through my school where I grew a lot in my Spanish speaking as well. So, if you need help with grammar, like conjugations, I'm your girl!

About the lesson

I like for my students to tell me exactly what they need help with (vocab, factoring, conjugating, etc) prior to our meet, so I can make sure that I come prepared. I always start by asking what my student needs. Is the main goal homework help, studying for a test, or more practice? Either way, I make sure to make it so that the session is productive for that specific student and their needs. Often times I will give the students a plan to follow for the next week, so they can stay on top of their work and continue to grow independently.

I have worked with Spanish 1 students, Spanish 2 honors students, and an Algebra 1 student (who I also helped for biology).

Details

I typically charge $20 per hour, but am open to negotiatation depending on what you think is fair. For instance, if you are just in need of someone to help you study and go through flash cards for vocab and give you practice questions for comprehension, we could find a more fit price.
