About Ishaan

I am the Founder & Executive Director of Legato Lingua, a non-profit organization that teaches foreign languages to children through group sessions at public libraries and schools; I have taught over 1000 students in this capacity and developed a Spanish curriculum.

I am also a BA in Spanish at Virginia Commonwealth University, and have served as a Medical Interpreter for Spanish-speaking patients in clinical settings. I will be living in Spain for four months this upcoming year to further my studies at the University of Sevilla.

I also tutor in Biology. I recently completed my BS in Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University and will be attending medical school this upcoming year. I have taken the MCAT, Biology SAT Subject Test, and AP Biology Exams and performed exceptionally on each of these (scores available upon request).

I am very flexible and offer my services virtually.

I love to get to know individual students and empower them to achieve their goals.

I've always loved teaching and empowering students to achieve their full potential. I started off as a Golf Coach for young children back as a freshman in high school, and I loved being able to support young golfers on their journeys in the sport. Since then, I've translated this to working as a Tutor and founding my own educational non-profit organization.

I have founded Legato Lingua, an organization that specializes in teaching foreign languages. Therefore, I have experience creating curriculum and teaching Spanish to many students at once, as well as finding engaging ways to keep students interested in learning languages. I also am currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Spanish (along with Biology), and have experience taking Spanish courses at the highest level.

About the lesson

When I meet a new student, I always try to get to know them to understand their expectations and what they want to get out of the tutoring session. Whether a student is looking for a few sessions in a specific topic area, or a long-term plan to achieve fluency, I always create a plan that caters to the student I am working with.

All kinds of students! I welcome and accept people from all backgrounds, ages, races, sexual orientations, walks of life :)

I would make sure to find someone who is familiar with teaching and really drilling in the concepts. Often, it's one thing to know a language, and another thing to teach one. As someone who has had many years of formal Spanish instruction, I understand that having teachers who can explain the in-depth grammar behind things is very important.
