About Richard
I have my Bachelors in Spanish, with a minor in Latin American studies. I then received my master’s degree in Spanish linguistics and Second language learning from the University at Albany- State University of New York. In those years I have taken numerous courses on second language learning, teaching Spanish as a second language and various linguistic classes that focused on phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, morphology, syntax, and history of the Spanish language. With addiction, in March of 2021 I received my 300-hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) diploma where I further expanded my practical knowledge of teaching a foreign language in person and online.

What I like to do is get to know the student, give them a questionnaire to see where they are in their Spanish skills and find out about children’s learning style. I like to assess the students’ needs and skills and base the learning plan on these. Also, I like to get the student comfortable with me and find out what their interests are and what motives them and incorporate that into my lesson plans so that they are more interested in the learning process.
