About Lesli

My name is Lesli Galvez. As a skilled and enthusiastic teacher with key experience developing Spanish language curriculum while maintaining an unwavering focus on capturing student interest and engagement, it is my pleasure to submit the enclosed cover letter for your review. For the past 2 years, I have excelled as the Spanish Teacher at Head Start Trabajamos Juntos, Bronx, NY. I am excited to put my experience and background to work for the benefit of a new school. Classroom management, pronunciation and grammar instruction, and student performance evaluation are just a few of my areas of expertise. By teaching students from a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles, I have honed my communication, creativity, and motivational skills. Being a Spanish teacher is my passion for many reasons. It allows me to create great friendships with people from all over the world, discuss very interesting topics and discover many ways of thinking. Teaching my own language and my own culture while discovering others makes me wake up every day with positivity. ✅

My purpose is to support all those who want to learn / improve their Spanish for any situation they need, whether in grammar, conversation or in specific topics where I can use different techniques to solve these questions.

I am a native Spanish speaker, I grew up studying preschool through high school in Mexico City. And I am with more than 8 years in the city of New York learning English as a second language. So my level of English is advanced-intermediate. I have experience in children, adolescents, adults because I have taught Spanish for more than 4 years, 2 years free to my community as neighbors who needed Spanish in their middle school and high school and adults. And 2 years in an early education campus. I have an associate degree, a bachelors degree in Romance Languages (Spanish) and Literature and currently in this year 2021, I started my Master's Degree in Spanish Education for High School. And I am completely convinced that they will learn Spanish with me as your teacher.

About the lesson

I start first with introducing ourselves. After 2 minutes, we advance to the class that I will teach as an introduction to the Spanish level that my student's needs.Students will feel (SAFE) that he/she has the right to return to class, as well as the opposite, students may not return, it is his/her personal decision. I'm Spanish tutor and I can help you with your Spanish homework and projects.

I am a good teacher, I knowledge of the subject that I teach and I am an enthusiastic, loving and empathetic but also firm and respectful, responsible, flexible and communicative. I seek to improve myself and acquire new tools.I have a positive attitude and love my job. I know how to listen to students and adapt to student's needs. I are clear about my objectives. I am not afraid of change. I know how to communicate and work with families. I trust my students.

The most recent event that I like is that we have to see the positive that we are isolated by covid-19 because we can learn new things. Things that probably did not interest us and now interest us. For example, in my case, live musical concerts seem magnificent to me. Because I can be from the comfort of my house without worrying about what time the concert will end and what taxi I will take back home or if I leave my car parked outside and they give me a ticket. I can be in pajamas and slippers in my house and have privacy but at the same time enjoy my concert live but online.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
My students should not be afraid to ask any question about their education and personal or special needs because I am a human being before being a Spanish teacher. A human being has different needs as well as different ways of learning, for example: some of the students that I have had to teach cannot learn just by listening to what I say or read but they need to see images or videos. And I try to give my student in a visual way as it is in linear and in an oral way that is speech. I am here to help you learn a new language such as Spanish and if you need to improve your Spanish. I have a range for the prices of my Spanish classes per section that is 45 to 50minutes, it is the first day it would be a trial of 15 dollars and if you dare to stay, I will charge you 17-15 dollars. It is a reasonable price since there are teachers who charge up to $ 60 per section, which is 45 to 50 minutes.But if you decide to stay and learn Spanish with me, that amount may drop a little.
