About Simren
Hi! My name is Simren and I graduated from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) with a degree in Public Health (focus on administration and policy) and a minor in Business. I have always had a passion for helping students become their best selves within the classroom. I have many younger siblings and cousins that I tutor in math and reading comprehension. I have also worked in an after school extended daycare and helped young students with their homework as well as study for exams. I have also tutored college students during my senior year of college. This shows my determination in helping people in my community in order to succeed and reach their full potential.
I started teaching students when I was in high school. I have always appreciated the mentors I had growing up and wanted to be that for someone else!
I have a degree in Public Health and Business. I also tutored students in college. I have worked in 2 different companies since college that put me in a position to train new hires.

First, I ask the student what they believe their strengths and weaknesses are in the specific subject we are working on, so I know what to focus on when tutoring.
Second, we set goals and objectives every time we meet so that we are on the same page and I have found that this keeps students motivated. Communication is key.
Third, I let them know to ask me questions whenever they have any! The goal is for the student to work towards independence, so asking questions is a huge step towards that.
Fourth, I do the problem, we do the problem, and then the student does the problem. This way students feel comfortable and confident doing the work by themselves by the end of our session!
I have worked with students of all ages, ranging from elementary students to college students.
