About Jerry
I emphasize fundamentals from the proper grip to fast paced foot work. I teach top spin and open stance on ground strokes and the serve. Drill and Drill until proper mechanics become automatic in your game.
I also string racquets at a discount. Frequent drilling requires hitting a significant number of balls per session resulting in loss of string tension.
I do not offer in-door winter season lessons.
As a tennis trainer I get enjoyment watching a player climb the ladder of skill development. I am an accomplished intermediate player. I am retired and teach tennis for the joy of doing so.
As I personally enhance my tennis skill over time friends and their children request training services.
I have played tennis for many years and have pursued advancement of skill during that time by purchasing training and by competing in tennis tournaments and leagues.

First, what is your interest in the progression of tennis skill? What level of competition are you preparing to enter?
I have worked with tennis beginners to the intermediate level. I define the intermediate level at a strong 3.5 player to to a 4.0 to 4.5 player. I can rate a player on their knowledge of the game as well as proficiency in strokes to include forehand, backhand, volley, overhead and serve.
I consider a thorough understanding of the correct grip associated with each tennis stroke to be essential for skill development. Likewise for correct foot work.
I can help you progress in tennis skill development. You need to want to do the work to do that if you want me to help you.
This past summer a 14 year old student suddenly began hitting ground strokes with significant topspin. After several months of changing her grip in order to hit with top spin she was able to do so. This is an example of climbing the tennis skill development ladder. I like to compare it to learning to ride a bicycle. With significant training and effort you are suddenly able to ride the bike.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How serious are you about learning tennis and how far do you want to go in skill development? Group lessons may work best for you to start if not sure. It will give you time to decide how far you want to go and it is cheaper. I prefer to work one on one.

One summer of 2 lessons per week with Jerry increased my skill level from 3.0 to a solid 3.5. I have a much improved understanding of the appropriate grip for the various shots with special improvement with my serve and 2 handed backhand. Constant drilling of technique was critical for me. I recommend Jerry and especially so if you want to improve your competitive tennis game.
