About Gabriel
Hello! I am entering my second year at SUNY Fredonia as a music education major. I have about 15 years of music experience and have been playing trombone for just about 10 years. Throughout high school, I played in various music festivals through the Massachusetts Music Educator's Association (MMEA) and the University of Rhode Island. I also participated in New England Conservatory's Preparatory School's MYWE program and Youth Trombone Choir, directed by Boston Symphony Bass Trombonist, James Markey. I studied with former Symphony New Hampshire Principal Trombonist in high school and currently study with Buffalo Philharmonic Principal Trombonist.
I really want to make classical music accessible to everyone and help expose more people to the symphony and make it a place for everyone, not just the current demographic that it serves. I love helping my students accomplish their goals in music and finding creative solutions to problems that they may be having.

I assess where the student is at the current moment and find out if they have any experience at all with music or trombone, then, we figure out some goals and what they want to gain through having lessons and work together to come up with ways to accomplish those goals through various etudes, exercises, and working on the specific goal(s).
Try to have a lesson with a few different teachers and see which one you like the best. Most teachers will give you really similar information but will give it to you in very different ways. It is very important to find a teacher that you work well with.
