About Edward
I am a small time conductor and my long term goal is to make sure all of my students can practice and perform without a teacher. I've tutored a handful of students in the past, both older and younger, but I work best with students closer to my age (Highschool - College). I have also won several music awards, most for being the only conductor in the area at my age, others for my violin performances. I look forward to working with you!
Meeting new people interested in music is always an exciting moment!
A few years ago, I noticed more and more people around me were interested in starting music or learning new instruments. I love sharing my passion for music with others, so I immediately offered to help them all out.
I've been tutored several years myself for a variety of instruments including piano, violin, bass, and percussion.

Getting to know them, learning where they stand in terms of their goals, and figuring out what teaching style works best for them are all my initial talking points for the first two lessons.
I've taught two students with zero starting experience how to play viola and violin, one student going from trumpet to violin, and another going from violin to double bass. All of them were at most a year or two older than I was.
Finding the perfect match for you can be very difficult; don't be afraid to meet plenty of possible teachers before deciding on one!
My favorite experience was arranging and conducting for the Borah Chamber Orchestra at one of their end of the year concerts a year or two back, I arranged some of my favorite songs from several Studio Ghibli films. It was such a blissful experience.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Make sure your teacher completely understands what you want out of your experience and lessons. Bringing example music for what you want to be able to play in the future can help a lot!

Details
Pricing depends entirely on where the lessons take place. I charge around 15$/hr for online lessons, and 10$+ for every added instrument or subject; for example if you wanted to learn violin online but can't read music yet, it'd be about 25$/hr. It's 20$/hr if you can travel here, and 30$/hr if I need to drive there (the added 10$ for extra subjects still applies).
