About Crystle

I have been teaching violin lessons for the past 3 years. Being a violinist of 18 years, I love seeing other students from young to old deciding the violin to be their instrument of choice. To see my students set their goals and accomplish them is my goal.

I use several different kinds of lesson books to help support learning music theory. Any student who can recognize the letters A-G I am able to teach. I do not provide the instrument but I have several suggestions on how to acquire a violin for you or your young student.

I have taught young and old. My motto is you are never too young to try something big, and you are never too old to learn something new.

I have a BA in Elementary Education and currently work as an Early Childhood Educator. Music is my passion along with teaching. I started in 6th grade and have not stopped playing. I have played in orchestras, chamber ensembles, as well as solo. After 15 years of playing, I met my first student over seas. She was hungry to learn all I could pass on to her in our short time together. Since then, I have taught several students of various skill levels and ages.

About the lesson

I love finding out the why behind their playing. Their why will fuel their practicing, help set their goals, and bring about the growth that all who are investing in the lessons want. After I find out the why, then I look to see where the student is at. How much music theory do they know? From there I can recommend a book or series of books to learn music theory in a fun way. I also ask what their favorite music artist is. Who inspires them will help shape their playing style over time. It also gives me an idea of what music I can bring/offer that they would be interested in playing to help develop skills along the way.
