About Rose
Welcome! I help self-motivated, engaged violists and violinists express themselves through music they love and gain confidence in their playing. My goal is to tailor lessons to each student's learning style and individual interests. Students are encouraged to participate in auditions and community music ensembles.
I love working with students who are excited and curious about music and bring lots of questions, suggestions, and ideas to their lessons. I aim to make lessons an engaging, interactive experience where we work together to achieve your goals.
Playing an instrument requires as much mental ability as it does physical. In my teaching, I enjoy connecting these two elements—we will not only work on how to play correctly, but also learn why it works. This teaching style promotes critical thinking and develops the skill of efficient, thoughtful practice.
In my studio, students enjoy a positive, encouraging environment where they can learn free of judgment. My own experience taking private lessons has heavily influenced this aspect of my teaching. As a student, I was very lucky to have incredibly supportive teachers who encouraged me to work hard and play at a high level, while also fostering my love for music. My goal is to provide the same balance for my own students.
