About Jordan
Hey there!
My name is Jay McLuckie. Primarily, I am a classically trained Violinist with a BA from Lewis & Clark College. My teaching style is informed by my own music education in the Suzuki Method. I offer flexible scheduling and a variety of platforms for instruction. I’m excited to teach all ages of musicians; however, I am not accepting students with no playing experience at this time.
Additionally, I have extensive professional experience tutoring college-level writers, high school English students, and ESL students! Tutoring sessions are available to all ages and levels of education. I enjoy taking creative approaches to learning, especially during these difficult times when education is primarily on-screen. I'm excited to help you feel more confident in your English or Social Studies classes, be it through grammar work or general writing assistance. I’m so excited to meet you and work together!

My teaching style is very collaborative! I strive to work closely with students so that they feel essential to the learning process. Typically, I will start a session by asking the student to tell me a bit about their current situation, what they are struggling with, and their goals (long or short term). Then we get to work! Everyone has the capacity to feel confident in English, and I encourage this ability through positive language and honest, constructive criticism.
