About Isla
I strive for my students to not only have the skills needed to play the fiddle, but to also have fun while doing it! My main goal for my students is come to enjoy playing music on their own through learning fun tunes and practicing different techniques.
I enjoy watching others excel in both their skills and love for fiddle music. I also love passing down the skills I've learned over the years to those who want to get better or learn fiddle for the first time.
My dad is a professional Celtic fiddle player, and most of what I know has been taught from him. I've also had about 2 years of formal fiddle teaching from Quebecois and Old-time fiddle player Lisa Ornstein.

First off, I will introduce myself and get to know the student- what skill level they are at, what type of music they like to listen to, etc. From there, I can start teaching new tunes and techniques according to their skill level.
