About Lia
I have over 5 years of experience in tutoring and working with children, with experience supporting students at different ages and learning levels. I am passionate about helping students strengthen their foundations, understand concepts clearly and develop greater confidence in their studies.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and previously studied in the science stream at a fully residential school. I achieved straight As in my major school examinations, which gave me a strong academic foundation and an understanding of effective study and examination techniques.
My teaching approach is student-centered and adaptable. I first identify the student’s current level, areas of difficulty and learning style before planning lessons accordingly. I focus on understanding rather than memorization, using clear explanations, guided practice, examples and exam-style questions. For younger students, I incorporate interactive activities and simple explanations to keep lessons engaging and help them develop a positive attitude towards learning.
My subject expertise includes Mathematics, Science, Bahasa Melayu, Jawi, Iqra’, 3M (reading, writing and basic numeracy) and other foundational subjects. I am also comfortable supporting students who need additional guidance to strengthen their basic concepts before progressing to more advanced topics.
I use digital resources and customized learning materials to make lessons more organized and engaging. I regularly monitor students’ progress and adjust the pace or teaching approach when necessary. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, learn from mistakes and gradually become more independent and confident learners.
I am committed to making each lesson meaningful and tailored to the individual student, whether they need help catching up, strengthening their foundation, preparing for examinations or simply becoming more confident in a particular subject.

Hi, I’m Teacher Lia! I’m a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a strong passion for teaching and helping students build confidence in their learning.
I have over 5 years of experience in tutoring and working with children. I enjoy making lessons simple, interactive and easy to understand by adapting my teaching style to each student’s learning pace and needs.
As a former science-stream student in a fully residential school who achieved straight As in my major school examinations, I understand the importance of building a strong foundation. I believe every student learns differently, and my goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to make them feel comfortable asking questions and confident in solving problems independently.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy learning new things, exploring educational resources, designing digital materials and spending time with children. I’m always excited to share what I know and make learning a positive experience for my students.
