About Emmanuelle

I have a violin teaching degree (Bachelor of music) and Performers certificate from a music conservatory in The Netherlands where I was born, and moved to the US after graduating college.
I have performed over the years in several symphony orchestra's, chamber orchestra's, string quartets, musical theater, and in other settings, always teaching along the way. I enjoy watching the student's progress, and enjoy the challenge to help the student improve to his/her potential. The many years of teaching have taught me how to analyse and help solve technical challenges in a practical and methodical way.

I teach in person out of my studio, and online through Zoom, FaceTime and other video platforms depending of one's preference.

About the lesson

As a teacher for more than 25 years, I enjoy working with students of every age, always with the goal of instilling a love for music and of exploring all that the violin offers.
I'm comfortable teaching the very young to the adult student, tailoring the lesson specifically to each student.

I work on right- and and left-hand technique with the goal to produce a beautiful tone, while teaching note reading and basic theory, always encouraging students along the way.

I have published a violin method book for the young beginning student, which features exercises, songs with lyrics, visual cues and colorful illustrations that draws the beginning student into violin playing.

Next to teaching, I'm an active musician in the Phoenix area.
