About Anna-Claire
I have been playing violin for most of my life and I've been teaching consistently for the last few years. My goal is to give students a great technical and musical foundation that will lead to a unique, fulfilling, and memorable experience with violin!
I began playing the violin when I was six years old, and I went on to attend Denver School of the Arts as an orchestra major. I later graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, where I studied with Professor Charles Wetherbee.
I have experience teaching both in person and online, and I completed the Suzuki Unit 1 teacher training with the Music Institute of Chicago.
I have experience in orchestral, chamber, and solo performance. I currently perform with Stratus Chamber Orchestra as Assistant Principal Second Violin. Other orchestras I have performed with include Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and Boulder Symphony Orchestra.

I teach primarily using the Suzuki method and Mimi Zweig's string pedagogy method. For beginners, I start with Suzuki Book 1. I believe it is important to utilize various teaching methods, as every student learns differently.
Lessons are planned based on the student's needs and goals. A typical lesson involves a warmup (scale or other exercise) and/or review before working on a piece that is appropriate for the student's level and discussing what to practice before the next lesson.
For online lessons, I can set up a shared google folder to keep notes from each lesson and other helpful materials. All ages and levels are welcome!

If you are interested in 1 hour lessons, my typical rate is $50 but I am offering them at $35 for new online students!
