About Youri

Passionate about the violin since the age of four, I had the chance to join the Young Talents program at the IMEP Conservatory in Namur, where I trained for three years. I was also a member of the Ensemble des Jeunes Solistes de Belgique (Young Soloists Ensemble of Belgium), an experience that allowed me to develop both my individual musicianship and my ability to play as part of a group.

I later chose to pursue engineering studies, while continuing to practice the violin and share my knowledge through teaching. For more than five years, I have taught students of varied backgrounds and levels, which has given me solid teaching experience and taught me to adapt to each person's needs.

I firmly believe that progress on the violin comes as much from a good method as from the pleasure of playing. That's why I strive to offer lessons that are structured, encouraging, and tailored to each student's goals, all within a supportive and motivating atmosphere.

About the lesson

Every student is different: that's why I tailor my lessons to your goals, your level, and your learning pace. Whether you want to discover the violin, pick it back up after a break, prepare for an audition, or simply improve for the fun of it, we'll build a personalized program together.

Lessons take place online or in person and can be given in French or English. A typical session includes a technical warm-up, work on pieces of your choice or from your program, as well as targeted advice on posture, intonation, tone, and interpretation. I also make sure to offer suitable exercises to encourage steady progress between lessons.

Thanks to my musical training and several years of teaching experience, I place great importance on pedagogy. My goal is to create a supportive, motivating, and structured environment where each student can gain confidence while developing solid technique.

My lessons are for students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to more advanced violinists looking to refine their technique or interpretation.

Youri is a patient, skilled violin tutor with a real understanding of technique and a knack for explaining things clearly. I studied with him online for a year and genuinely grew as a player because of it. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a teacher who makes lessons both effective and enjoyable.
