About Chis
Obtained a first in my maths undergrad, a 2:1 in my joint masters.
I have taught over a hundred students since I was a maths tutor during my A-levels and currently do teaching supply/support work in schools.
Worked as an actuary in general insurance handling statistical models, analysis and presentations.

Improving your maths is like building a pyramid. The foundation is important; and your success in progressing tomorrow is based on your success progressing today.
I endeavour to fill in the gaps of previous topics to strengthen foundations.
I let pupils express their own understanding of the work and correct/guide/supplement it. Then I ask them to express their upgraded understanding. This iterative process lets pupils see their progress, grow in confidence and learn to challenge themselves.
I encourage pupils to see maths as a tool to open their minds to new ways of thinking.
