About Yusuke

Through my teaching career of over 20 years, I have taught all ages from 5 years old to 80 years old. My students have won competitions, or proceeded to further studies at universities as piano majors, but most importantly they fall in love with piano and enjoy playing the piano. My teaching focuses on developing a healthy technique with effective use of body movement, as well as progressively introducing musical details so that playing becomes part of your self-expression. After all, that’s when it becomes the most fun! I hold BA(Hons) from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, MM from Roosevelt University, and DMA in Piano Performance from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Until April 2024, I served as the Piano Chief Instructor at the Siam Music Yamaha Thailand Headquarters. In this role my responsibilities included maintaining high teaching standards by the teachers, ensuring that teachers understood Yamaha syllabus and philosophy, and connecting with diverse audiences through performances and events. Through my duty I have witnessed and observed countless lessons by many teachers and students, which helped me to curate the effective lesson for each learner. I also organised various concerts and competitions, and developed extra learning materials for my students. Alongside from these duties I have performed internationally throughout Asia, North America, Europe, and also appeared in international piano competitions as adjudicator, and leading masterclasses.

About the lesson

I am a passionate classical pianist with 20+ years' experience in teaching, as well as performing solo and collaborations internationally.
