About Diarra

Hi! I'm Diarra, and I've been passionate about figure skating for many years. As a former figure skater, I’ve had the privilege of training, competing and performing, and I’m excited to share my knowledge and love for the sport with others.

I’m an experienced instructor who focuses on helping beginner and intermediate skaters improve their technique, build confidence, and enjoy their time on the ice. Whether you are just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I tailor each lesson to your individual needs and goals.

What sets me apart is my approach to teaching: I combine technical skill development with fun and engaging activities, making sure you feel supported and motivated throughout the process. My goal is to create a positive and safe environment where students can push their limits while enjoying the journey.

When I’m not on the ice, I’m passionate about learning and staying active. I also have experience as a Montessori teacher, which has strengthened my ability to observe and understand how people learn, allowing me to adapt my approach to suit each individual.

I’m excited to help you on your skating journey, whether it’s learning the basics or enhancing your intermediate skills.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Diarra, a former figure skater with years of experience coaching students of all ages and skill levels. I offer lessons that cater to beginner and intermediate skaters, focusing on building confidence, improving skating technique, and ensuring an enjoyable, supportive learning environment.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
My approach is tailored to each student’s level and goals. I focus on developing core skating skills, such as balance, posture, turns, crossovers, and basic jumps. Each lesson is designed to break down techniques into manageable steps, with a focus on building confidence and fluidity on the ice. I use a mix of drills, exercises, and fun activities to help students feel comfortable and progress at their own pace.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): Gentle stretching and skating drills to loosen up and get comfortable on the ice.
Skill Development (15-20 minutes): Focus on improving specific skating skills such as gliding, turns, or crossovers, based on the student’s ability.
Reinforcement of Skills (10-15 minutes): Practice combining basic skills to develop fluidity and control.
Cool Down (5-10 minutes): Relaxing glide and stretches to ease muscle tension and improve flexibility.
