About Michael
My name is Michael, I'm 34 and I have recently moved from my home country of Australia.
Apart from moving to New Zealand, my last overseas trip was to China where I was fortunate enough to gain my first teaching experience in Early Childhood. I enjoyed the satisfaction of making a difference in children's lives and seeing their smiling faces every day.
I enjoyed my time there so much that I decided to undertake a Bachelor's degree in Education in Australia. I am currently in my final year of University.
Not long after relocating to New Zealand, I gained employment in Early Childhood and have been happily working there for the last 6 months.

Drawing on my prior experiences within Early Childhood settings, I understand the importance of child-led and play-based learning. I will incorporate these into my lessons.
Drawing on my engagement with Primary School education, I will incorporate a combination of intentional teaching and Lev Vygotsky's theory of learning and development, where I will assist the child/student achieve with guidance.
Depending on the age range, typical lesson lengths could be 15 minutes - 60 minutes
I am new to tutoring, however I have tutored an 8-year-old boy (English as a second language), 3 ladies (Introduction to Business and English as a second language) and 1 lady (who was studying for her English as a second language test)
I would love to plan lessons and help lower primary and people who are learning English as an additional language.
