About Eva
I have been passionate about the English language and English Language Arts (ELA) throughout my education. I first discovered my passion for teaching while volunteering as a tutor for youth through a Big Brothers program in primary school. That experience inspired me to pursue tutoring more seriously, particularly in ELA, although I have also had the opportunity to tutor students in other subjects and languages, including Russian.
My professional experience includes teaching in various youth programs throughout my city, including alternative learning environments where I provided individualized academic support to students with a range of learning challenges and personal circumstances. Working in these settings helped me develop a flexible and student-centered teaching style, allowing me to tailor my approach to each student's individual needs, learning style, and goals.
As a tutor, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building their skills, and gaining confidence in their abilities. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them develop the confidence and independence they need to become stronger learners.

I thoroughly enjoy ELA, and my goal is to make learning ELA an enjoyable, engaging, and overall educational experience.
I believe in a personalized approach for each individual based on their interests and personality types, while providing a safe space to be yourself. I like to think that it is easier to learn when one feels safe to be authentically themself.
I would like to prove that learning CAN be fun. And sometimes, it can be easy, too!
My specialties lie in middle and high school ELA, and a typical lesson plan would begin with a recap of the previous lesson to practice repetition and enforce memory consolidation. Then it would move into learning objectives, reading and literacy, and grammar, along with many practice activities and examples.
