About ANNABEL

I have a lot of valuable teaching experience. As part of my degree course, I was delighted to spend nine months working as a Foreign Language Assistant in Hamburg in two contrasting schools. Whilst improving my spoken German, this placement allowed me gain valuable teaching experience which is the career I have always envisaged going into. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to teach the students about my native language and culture whilst immersing myself into theirs. In one school I was working with refugees who didn’t have a strong understanding of neither German nor English. As challenging as this was, I found this extremely rewarding in seeing their improvement throughout the academic year. I had to develop different ways of communicating myself and judging my students responses to grasp how much they had actually understood. On the other hand, I was additionally working in a vocational school specializing in the wholesale trade with focus on business and economics. Teaching unfamiliar topics to older, mature students who had a good command of the English language put me out of my comfort zone. However, I adapted myself to the situation and by the end of the year, I was planning and conducting lessons effectively independently.

About the lesson

In 2016 I graduated from Exeter University with a first class BA Modern Languages degree in French and German with proficiency in Italian. I am extremely passionate about teaching and although I specialize in Modern Foreign Languages I have excellent qualifications across a range of subjects GCSE - A Level which I am willing to give tuition in. I am a friendly, approachable individual, thriving to help students achieve their goals. I am based in Exeter. I have access to a car so I am willing to travel,
