About Zoe

I struggled in school with languages - I still consider myself not gifted in language learning. I want to help and inspire young people who are in a similar position to where I was to excel in German. Having studied German at University, I completed a year abroad studying at the University of Magdeburg, where I developed my German ability to near fluency. This was certified in my final year German spoken exam where I received a distinction. I aim to use my practical skills of German and my educational skills I have learnt from being a student of German myself to provide a relaxed, enjoyable and motivating atmosphere for young people.

About the lesson

I teach using engaging and interactive content and topics, with my aim being to inspire young people to be passionate about German. I endeavour to minimise the boring grammatical side of learning German (although it is still necessary) by having students develop their grammar through a more well-rounded grasp of the language. Sessions will typically be shorter for younger students, I usually offer hour-long sessions for sixth formers and 45 minutes for GCSE students. I am happy to take on students of all secondary school ages, with levels of German from beginner to the top end of A Level (CEFR level B1/2). I have been tutoring for 5 years, while I was still completing my own German A Level I started tutoring GCSE students. During my degree I tutored A Level students. I have just graduated from the University of Nottingham with a first class degree in German and History, with a special award of distinction in spoken German. During my studies I lived and studied in Germany for a year.
