About Freya

I will shortly be graduating from the Graduate Entry LLB programme The City Law School, London. In September, I will begin the BVS course to train as a barrister.

As a Widening Participation Fellow at the University of Manchester, I designed and delivered a series of geography workshops and field trip activities for a cohort of 15 year 10 students aiming to encourage them into Higher Education.

I have spent the past year as administrative and support staff at an inner-London school, and have an enhanced DBS on the update service.

Qualifications:

The City Law School 2020 - 2022
- Graduate Entry LLB

University of Manchester 2014-2018
- BA (Hons) Geography with International Study, First Class
- During my third year I studied at the National University of Singapore as an international exchange student

A Levels:
- English Literature: A*
- Geography: A
- French: A

11 GCSEs A*-A, including Maths and English

About the lesson

I offer subject-specific tutoring in Geography and English Literature as well as general essay-writing and comprehension skills for Humanities subjects. My sessions are aimed at students from KS3 to A level with a particular focus on academic skills and study techniques, something that I appreciate that many students will want to build on following the disruption to education over the past year. I also offer Reading Comprehension for primary school learners from 8+ to 11+.

1-to-1 online sessions are tailor made to the topics and techniques the student wishes to focus on. The first introductory (and free) lesson will review which areas to target, after which we develop a learning action plan. Structuring and developing sessions with students keeps them engaged with their learning, and being able to see their progress is an important boost to their confidence. I hope to encourage them to take ownership of their studies and help them to develop into confident and active learners with a love for their subject.

Perfect! Freya makes sure i'm confident in the topic which we are discussing before carrying on and provides numerous resources and help in terms of revision. In the lessons she presents powerpoints and show videos for a further understanding, and if needed she goes over past papers to allow me to understand how to write and structure a question during an exam.
Overall an excellent tutor.
