About Leah

Hi!

I’m Leah, a First-Class Modern Languages graduate with over 3 years of experience tutoring languages online. I specialise in Spanish tuition for GCSE and A Level students, as well as supporting learners of all levels with their Spanish.

I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, improve their skills and achieve their academic goals through personalised, engaging lessons.

I'm fluent in Spanish and I've spent time living and working in Spain. I love to share authentic expressions and aspects of the culture and language with my students.

About the lesson

Qualifications and experience:

️I have 3+ years of experience tutoring languages and hold a First-Class degree in Modern Languages, with Spanish as one of my degree languages.

️I am currently studying for an MA in Linguistics.

️I am fluent in Spanish: I work in Spanish every day, speak with my family-in-law in Spanish, and I've spent the last year living in Spain.

Teaching methodology:

️First and foremost, I always keep my students' objectives and interests in mind when planning sessions.

️For all language learners, it's really important to have as much exposure to Spanish as possible. That's why I base classes on authentic materials, such as interviews, podcasts, or articles by native speakers. We will improve across all four disciplines - speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

️For GCSE and A Level students, we will do this while developing your knowledge of the course content, depending on your level and exam board.

️I usually take a communicative approach to teaching and personalise content as I get to know the student. Whenever possible, we will be speaking in Spanish. A typical class might consist of watching a short clip together, analysing vocabulary and grammar, then debating about the content. Each week, my conversation questions are prepared with a grammar point in mind.

️I always send regular feedback and track progress, so we both know what you're getting better at and where you need more guidance.

Lessons are typically one hour long.

I teach students of all ages and levels, with particular experience supporting GCSE and A Level students with exam preparation.
