About Amy

I am passionate about helping students to be innovative and develop their mathematical skills. Whether a student's main goal is to build their confidence or complete last preparations for their GCSE exams I am able to tailor my knowledge to provide personalised support.
My tutees recognise my passion for mathematics and I aim to inspire students to see maths more in their everyday lives.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I prioritise being friendly and approachable to my students. This facilitates transparent communication, and enables me to tailor my tutoring style to individual students.
I use recall throughout sessions to test retention and increase confidence. I am also flexible: if a student wants to prepare for a topic test, I am happy to change my plan to facilitate this. As a tutor, I promote the use of initiative whether it be taking the opportunity to check an answer or question how a problem may be adapted. As a learner myself, I believe that initiative drives success.
Typically, my lessons are an hour. During this time students will tackle a variety of engaging problems, tailored to their needs.

I have over 2 years of professional tutoring experience across both Maths and English. I achieved an A* in A-Level maths at 92%, and an A in further maths. At GCSE I achieved a grade 9 in Maths. I have chosen to specialise in maths tuition as it is the subject which I am most passionate about.
I offer tuition in Maths (up to A-Level) and Further Maths (up to GCSE). I am also experienced in offering tuition for SATs and 11 plus exams.
I have worked with many students with Special Educational Needs and am happy to meet with potential students to discuss suitability.
