About Soraida

Hi! I'm Soraida, originally from Melbourne, Australia, and now living in Ecuador, where I teach English at a local university, and work part-time as a freelance tutor. I have a heart for helping others grow in confidence and language fluency, and I bring over 15 years of teaching experience to every lesson. Outside the classroom, I love watching comedy movies, reading the Bible and apologetics, and going for long walks with my husband and our sweet dog, Kimmy. I'm known for being warm, loving, and friendly, and I find real joy in connecting with people from all walks of life. Oh—and I'm also passionate about singing, especially when I get to lift others' spirits through it! Let’s learn, grow, and enjoy the journey together.

Hi! I'm Soraida, an experienced and friendly English teacher with: ️ A Bachelor’s degree in Science Education (English mention) ️ A Master’s degree in English Language Teaching for Self-Directed Learning ️ A Graduate Diploma in TESOL ️ Over 15 years of teaching experience with students from Latin America and around the world I specialize in helping beginner to B2-level students whether from high school, university, etc. (any age is welcome) or simply anyone who would like to improve their spoken fluency through relaxed, meaningful conversation. What my lessons look like: You choose the topic — or we can read, watch, or listen to something first We talk! I gently guide the conversation to keep it natural and productive I take note of your common errors and give clear, kind feedback at the end If needed, I offer you a personal action plan to fix problem areas and build confidence I'm known for my creativity and warm personality, and students often say they feel comfortable speaking with me right from the start. Let’s talk and improve your English together — one great conversation at a time!
