About Nichola

I am Nichola, lover of the Spanish language! I was originally a circus artist, and I ran away to the circus in Latin America. There, I learnt the language while we toured from Mexico to Panama. I also met my husband in the circus. He is Mexican, and we have been married for 18 years. Our children were born in Mexico, and we speak Spanish at home.
I have lived back in the UK for 9 years, teaching Spanish in schools and as a private tutor.

I am passionate about helping learners develop both their language skills and their confidence. Whether a student is a complete beginner or looking to improve fluency, I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive, and tailored to individual goals. I enjoy sharing not only the Spanish language, but also cultural knowledge and real-life usage to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.

About the lesson

I am a fluent Spanish speaker, having lived in Central America for 10 years, and I speak Spanish daily at home. This allows me to teach both formal Spanish and natural, everyday language.

My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. I welcome students who want to learn Spanish for school, exams (such as GCSE), travel, work, or personal interest, and I adapt each lesson to suit the learner’s pace and learning style.

My approach to tutoring is supportive, structured, and tailored to each individual learner. I believe that confidence is key when learning a language, so I create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable practising Spanish from the very beginning.

I use a communicative teaching approach, combining speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Lessons are adapted to the learner’s goals and level, whether that is building a strong foundation, improving conversational Spanish, preparing for exams, or developing confidence for travel or work.
