About Me: Who I Am & Why I Teach
Who I Am
Hello! I’m Simba, a former Senior Specialist Physiotherapist, Independent Prescriber, and former University Practitioner Lecturer with over 20 years of clinical and academic experience across the NHS and private practice. I stopped practising and not registered with HCPC. I am offering my vast knowledge and experience.
My clinical career spans specialised Neurological Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal care, and Complex Elderly Care. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in acute hospitals, community outreach teams, and specialised stroke units. I hold a Master’s degree (MSc) in Advancing Professional Practice from Sheffield Hallam University, alongside postgraduate qualifications in Independent Prescribing and Botulinum Toxin Injection therapy from the Universities of Nottingham and Coventry.
Beyond the hospital ward, community care is deeply personal to me. I founded and raised funds for the Boston Stroke Support Group and organised local healthcare charity initiatives because I fundamentally believe in empowering people through knowledge, movement, and compassionate care.
Why I Want to Teach
Throughout my 23 years in healthcare, some of my most rewarding moments haven't only come from patient breakthroughs—they’ve come from mentoring junior staff, supervising university placement students, and lecturing undergraduate physiotherapy students at Sheffield Hallam University.
I know firsthand how demanding healthcare education can be. Balancing complex anatomy, rapid clinical reasoning, ward placement politics, and high-stakes OSCE exams is tough. It is easy for students to feel overwhelmed by textbook theory when trying to apply it to a real, complex patient at the bedside.
I teach because I love bridging that gap.
I want to give you the exact practical tools, clinical confidence, and clear reasoning strategies that take years to build on the job. Whether you are struggling to structure your clinical notes, nervous about an upcoming Elderly Care placement, or trying to master neurological assessment, my goal is to create a supportive, stress-free space where you can ask questions, build genuine understanding, and truly excel.
