About John
I am an approachable tutor and will make sure students feel that we are on the same team, working towards the same goal. For me, the key part of any teaching role is building a relationship which allows students to enjoy all aspects of their lessons so it is not only their grades that improve but also their confidence. I think 1:1 tutoring provides the perfect opportunity for this growth and it is always exciting to be a part of that.

I taught maths for two years in a secondary school, to students up to 16 years old, from Year 7 nurture groups to top set GCSE groups, including classes with a variety of Special Educational Needs.
I am therefore experienced in breaking down topics into manageable chunks as well as building up exam technique, getting students ready for their GCSEs and entrance exams. My research into good teaching practices and experience in teaching through the pandemic has equipped me with the skills necessary to get the most out of online lessons.
