About Kyle
I recently completed 10 years of service in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator, accumulating approximately 1,000 military flight hours and flying around the world. One of the parts of my career I enjoyed most was helping teach and mentor newer pilots in my squadron. I also hold commercial pilot qualifications in both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft.
I grew up in California, attended the U.S. Naval Academy, and played Division I water polo there before beginning flight training. I later earned a master’s degree from USC.
Aviation was a childhood dream of mine, sparked in part by flight simulators, and I ultimately had the opportunity to make that dream a career. I now enjoy helping kids, aspiring pilots, student pilots, and aviation enthusiasts discover that same excitement while making complicated flight concepts practical, approachable, and easy to understand.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s experience, interests, and goals. Lessons can range from fun introductory aviation and flight simulator sessions to more advanced ground school and flight topics.
Beginners can explore how aircraft fly, basic controls, navigation, weather, cockpit instruments, and aviation decision-making. More advanced students can dive into aerodynamics, flight planning, aircraft systems, instrument concepts, mission planning, and other ground school subjects.
I recently transitioned from the U.S. Navy after 10 years as a Naval Aviator, with approximately 1,000 military flight hours. I also hold commercial pilot qualifications in both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft.
My teaching style is visual, practical, and conversational. Lessons can follow a structured plan or be completely tailored around a student’s interests, questions, and pace. Whether someone is a kid fascinated by airplanes, a flight simulator enthusiast, or an aspiring pilot, my goal is to make aviation fun, understandable, and approachable.
