• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  I chose to take a Certification at the young age of 13! I have been working in the basketball field from that time on. I started as an assistant and now I hold a head coaching camps at North Shore Basketball Academy. I also hold position of head of skills development for the NSBA.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  As a player I had a great time building my skills and being able to reach my goals. Getting a bunch of awards as a player was pretty cool as well.
  This inspires me to help others with their basketball goals. With the amount of great coaching I have received it’s a very beneficial for my clients.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  My favourite part about tutoring is the relationships I build with clients and seeing them progress through the years. I also appreciate that the person wants to get better and was not just put in a class to fill up space in their week.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  I started my coaching career with a company called RBL where I learned how to be a camp coach and skills coach. Coaches Blake and Bal taught me most of my core values as a coach including working with varied multicultural and socioeconomic groups has given me a lot of depth as a coach.
  
  The King of Handles aka Joey Haywood inspired me and I’ve been able to join his team and win multiple championships. His skill based around handles and pull ups with a lot more to go around.
  
  I also have learned an emense amount from Gene Wolf a player I was told stories about throughout my basketball career and revered as a goated shooter. We travel to remote places and coach across the province.

• What are your keys to success?

  My keys to success are repetition's and skill based learning. I seek to find athletes, flow state and teach them how to think less when executing skills. I try to keep drills fun so that athletes will have a long career as opposed to yelling and punishing which I think results in a short career. I think we’re differentiates me from other coaches is that I’m excited to see clients reach their own goals as opposed to my goals for them.
