About the lesson

As an experienced tutor, I offer both in-person (for students in the South Bay Area) and online instruction tailored to each student's unique needs and goals. Prior to our first lesson, I meet with the student to discuss their specific objectives and review the relevant course materials. This allows me to develop a comprehensive lesson plan and explore various strategies to maximize their learning outcomes.
For example, when working with students to enhance their speaking proficiency, I carefully select sample sentences and paragraphs from textbooks for pronunciation practice. Additionally, I incorporate short video/movie clips in the target language to further immerse students in authentic contexts. Throughout our sessions, I closely observe each student's progress and dynamically adjust my approach - adding, modifying, or removing activities as needed to ensure optimal skill development.
With a Master's degree and a 3.98 GPA, I possess a strong command across many academic disciplines. Moreover, my patient, approachable demeanor enables me to effectively connect with students, while my previous tutoring experience has equipped me with the tools to be a highly effective instructor. I am qualified to tutor elementary through high school students in core subjects like math, physics, and Chinese. Depending on the requirements, I can also support college-level learners. I generally prefer a one-on-one instructional format, but I am always open to adjusting my approach based on each student's preferences and feedback.
