About Thila
I am a PhD candidate in French Studies. I have been working as a Teaching Assistant and a Course Director for the last 6 years at York University. I am also a francophone and speaks standard French very fluently.

Experimentation is key to language learning. It is through trial and error that we learn to understand and express ourselves in a language. Students learn best by doing and this philosophy is at the core of my teaching. Furthermore, to be an active participant, the student should be at the centre of learning. Therefore, I base my classes on the Action-oriented methodology and the Communicative approach. And I create different opportunities to embed language conventions within authentic contexts.
