About Mufaro

I am a recent BA Honours Fashion graduate, teaching garment construction part-time at Lisof Design School. I also have experience teaching fashion history. I have excellent pattern making skills and have a particular passion for tailoring and deconstruction.

About the lesson

My teaching method comprises of understanding what your goal in fashion is and then tailoring the content covered to your specific requirements.

Perfect! Mufaro has a wonderful way of training and every task I am given is easier than I thought it would be after she has explained it to me. Mufaro does a lesson prep before she arrives and emails notes to keep on file and revert back to if need be. I find this very helpful when I am practising what I have learnt in my lesson, as sometimes one forgets a step. As a tutor at a design institution, Mufaro has the accreditations necessary to teach this subject in its entirety.

With a lovely disposition, I look forward to my lessons with Mufaro. She is patient and kind, but takes the lessons seriously and clearly wants her students to excel. I highly recommend Mufaro and with her encouragement and training, I believe I will become proficient.

She taught a garment construction short course that I enrolled in. It was my first time behind a sewing machine and I completed that course feeling like I could go on to be the next Gert. She's patient and kind but also pushes you to complete each assignment one stitch at a time, it doesn't hurt that she teaches you tricks to remember basic sewing 101 and commit it to memory quicker.
