About Samantha

I love learning languages and think it should be accessible to everyone.

I hope I can share my love of French culture and language and make the learning experience enjoyable and memorable. I have always found that it's the real-life interactions that really foster enthusiasm and encourage independent study too.

About the lesson

I like to encourage lots of conversation, new vocab arises all the time and it's through the trial and error of speaking that a lot of learning happens.

Depending on level, goals and interests, I'll tailor the lessons to what is most appropriate. I enjoy studying song lyrics and interpreting French news, but you might have an interest in literature, sport, film or a particular personality etc.

My experience:

- Degree: 2:1 BA hons French and Spanish (distinction in oral French)
- DALF certificate from the Alliance française de Manchester

- Lived in France for 5 years - Vosges, Brittany, Paris and Bordeaux

I worked in 2 secondary schools as a British Language Assistant in Epinal (Vosges) for a year, then as a Lectrice (teaching English communication modules) at a university in Rennes. I also did translation work in Paris, and gave private tuition while living in Bordeaux.

Perfect! Samantha is excellent, she always manages to create a really nice atmosphere during our lessons, engaging but without feeling pressured to be perfect. Since taking the step to work with a professional tutor, I feel my French has come on massively. I would highly recommend her!
