About Bruno

I am 22 years old, and I graduated from Western University in 2022 with a Major in French Studies. I have recently completed my first year of Teacher's College (a two-year program to obtain an OCT teaching certification), and I am eager to gain experience teaching others the language that I have dedicated a great deal of time to mastering. Originally an immigrant from Brazil, I grew up speaking Portuguese at home. Growing up in an immigrant household where we spoke our native language, I was always facinated by foreign languages and learning about different cultures. Now that I have worked for so long to master the French language, I am passionate about helping others learn it so that they may experience the same sort of fulfilling journey of discovery that I have undergone.

About the lesson

I am prepared to teach students of all levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to start learning French, a parent looking for a tutor to give your child supplementary lessons, or an intermediate-level French speaker looking to improve your vocabulary/speaking abilities, I will customize lesson plans to help you reach your goals.

No matter the level of a student, one of my primary objectives is always to show him/her the beauty of francophone culture so that they may truly understand what learning French can bring to their life, and develop a lasting interest in studying the French language. I do this by incorporating into lessons the study of materials that help students learn about how people in France and other French-speaking regions live: how they interact in informal settings, their favourite forms of entertainment, their customs, their music, their literature, and other forms of cultural phenomena. I am someone who has been deeply interested in learning about the francophone world for a number of years, and I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to live in France for five months. Now that I have learned a great deal about francophone culture through first-hand experience, I am passionate about teaching others about the French language and the cultures across the world who speak it.
