About Edwige

I am a multi-faceted professional with a diverse background in journalism, screenwriting, and education. Originally based in Los Angeles, I worked as a journalist for a prominent press agency, where I honed my skills in research, writing, and storytelling. Additionally, my experience as a screenwriter for the French cinema industry allowed me to develop a keen eye for creativity and narrative structure.

In 2019, I made a life-changing decision to relocate to Australia, which prompted me to reevaluate my career path. Inspired by my passion for language and literature, I embarked on a journey to become a published author. Along the way, I discovered a new calling—to share my expertise in the French language and culture by teaching others.

Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students, I pursued professional certification as an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) specialist educator, focusing on K-8th grade. This certification reflects my dedication to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, ensuring that every student receives the individualized support they deserve.

With my varied background and unique skill set, I bring a rich blend of storytelling, cultural understanding, and a deep commitment to education. I am passionate about empowering students to develop their language skills, explore new cultures, and unlock their full potential. Through innovative teaching methods, empathy, and personalized guidance, I strive to create an engaging and inclusive learning experience for every student.

I am excited to embark on this new chapter as a French language educator, combining my love for teaching, writing, and cultural exchange. By sharing my knowledge and fostering a love for the French language, I hope to inspire and empower students on their language learning journey.

About the lesson

I I have a communicative approach with the practical use of the French language in real conversations, role plays. I incorporate authentic material like videos, podcasts and articles to expose students to the use of French in the real world.
I also use the Total Physical Response (TPR) method: students respond to commands or instructions by physically performing them. This method helps develop oral comprehension skills and reinforces vocabulary acquisition. For example, you can ask students to perform actions such as "stand up", "sit down", or "point to the object".
I teach vocabulary and grammar in context to make the learning experience more meaningful and memorable.
I offer individualized learning according to the student's learning needs, personalized assignments or one-on-one sessions to meet each student's specific goals and areas of improvement.
