About Aude

I hold a double master's in International Relations and History from Sorbonne University in Paris. Before that, I studied Humanities in a French programme called "classes préparatoires" (preparatory classes) which is an intensive 2-year course to prepare for highly competitive exams. During these two years, I learned a lot about French Literature and History, which are two passions of mine. I also studied Translation for a year. Over the last 5 years, I have travelled a lot. I lived in France, Austria, Germany, Israel and Lebanon! In every country I've lived, I have taught my language, French, and learned the local language, be it German, Arabic or Hebrew. This constant exchange between my language and others' cultures is central to my life.

About the lesson

My goal as a private tutor is to understand your needs and goals so I can prepare tailored lessons that will support your progression. All levels and ages are welcome. I have experience with students from age 3 to 50, from beginner to Bachelor level. I am confident with neurodivergent students. My pedagogy is based on 8 years of experience as a private tutor and a "normal" school teacher. It is influenced by the Montessori pedagogy and cognitive psychology. In my classes, I do not only teach French. I also promote self-confidence and autonomy, which are really crucial when learning a language. The methods, activities, and work material can be very different from one student to the other. It all depends on the way your brain works (if you're not sure, we will figure it out together) and the goals you've set. If you prepare an exam, we will focus on language skills and the format of the exam. Also, I'll teach you methods to trick your brain and bring your learning capacities to the next level in any subject. Last, I'll coach you so you arrive at the exam relaxed and confident. If you want to learn how to speak French, I will do my best to involve all your 5 senses so the knowledge sticks. It means we probably won't sit at a table and read conjugation or grammar rules. On the contrary, I will try to recreate a climate of immersion so your learning can be as efficient and durable as possible. Cognitive psychology has shown that it's the best way to learn and I have experienced it myself when I taught myself German, Arabic, and Hebrew. So, what do you say? How about learning French while learning about French culture, history, or gastronomy? How about learning French while tasting French cheeses at a French cheese shop? How about learning French while going to the French library together? :-) It looks so fun, and it is. Yet in the meantime, each lesson, as fun as it can be, follows a precise programme that I've set to expand and solidify your knowledge of French in the most efficient way possible.
