About Marilyn
I believe a teacher teaches by learning. I want to learn about you, my student, to discover just what your desired goals are. I will then set up an action plan to help you achieve those goals. I have taught in a classroom setting as well as worked one-on-one with students of all ages. My oldest learner was in his 60s learning to read for the first time. My youngest learner is my grandchild who is just starting her preschool learning of the alphabet and letter recognition. I have assisted my two children in obtaining their high school credits and both have gone on to post-secondary school. I am passionate about poetry and would love to help you discover the ways it can help you process this beautiful world. I am an office manager that uses literacy every day in communication and staff training. Let's start with A is for Awesome and that's YOU!

I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wilfrid Laurier University. I have experience teaching elementary, high school, and adult students. I will listen to what you need and customize to fit your needs whether that is learning to speak English as a second language, initial learning to read, essay prep, or even brushing up on long-lost poetry skills. Daily, I grow my own experience in writing for customer service training and business communication. I am flexible and here to help you succeed!
