About Zoe

Hi, my name is Zoe, and I am a Grade 9 student at Appleby College with a 95% average in math. I am a responsible, motivated tutor who is passionate about helping younger students feel confident and capable in math. I take tutoring seriously and always come prepared, organized, and focused on my student’s goals. I explain concepts clearly, work at a pace that suits each learner, and create a calm, positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I have experience working with neurodivergent students and understand the importance of patience, flexibility, and clear structure. I adapt my teaching style to meet each student’s needs and learning preferences. As a high-achieving student myself, I understand current curriculum expectations and effective study strategies. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them truly understand the material and build long-term confidence in math.

My Tutoring Approach – Zoe Hi, my name is Zoe. I am a Grade 9 student at Appleby College with a 95% average in math. I tutor Grade 6 to 8 math and introductory algebra, focusing on confidence, understanding, and steady improvement. Teaching approach I explain concepts step by step and adapt my teaching to how each student learns. I use clear examples, visuals, and guided practice to make math less overwhelming. I am patient, encouraging, and always make sure students feel comfortable asking questions. Lesson structure Lessons usually begin with a short review of homework or recent topics. I then teach the main concept using examples, followed by practice problems where students try questions on their own with my support. We finish with a quick recap and strategies to remember the concept. What sets me apart I am great with kids and have experience working with neurodivergent students. I understand that everyone learns differently and I adjust my pace, explanations, and structure to support each student’s needs. Being close in age also helps me relate to students and explain things in a clear, friendly way.
