About Kallie
I am a friendly, experienced English teacher who has been teaching IELTS and general English for nearly 10 years. I am offering private English lessons for students looking to improve their English generally, as well as, students who want to prepare for the IELTS, FCE, CAE or CPE exams. I am also offering private English literature lessons for GCSE students, with a tutor who has a Master's degree in Modern and Contemporary Literature. I really enjoy teaching IELTS and have helped many students achieve the exam grade they needed. In addition to IELTS, I've also taught the FCE, CAE, and PTE exams. I'm happy to help students of all different levels, from beginning to advanced. If you are interested in general English lessons, I can design lessons based on your specific needs, whether they are conversation, grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, writing, or pronunciation. For GCSE students, I have a great passion for literature and literary analysis, and hope to instil my love of reading in my students, break down literary devices in a comprehensible way, and help you understand and appreciate the concepts and ideas present in the GCSE reading list. For GCSE students: Lessons focus on building confidence in your ability to analyse the texts, analysing and connecting quotations, understanding literary devices, good essay and paragraph structure, good exam technique, and developing fluid and grammatically correct writing style. Depending on the student's needs and preferences, we use a variety of exercises including discussion, games and quizzes, writing, and essay planning together. For IELTS and CAE students: Lessons focus on a mixture of exam technique and improving your English. We will assess your current level, and look at each common exercise on the exam and effective techniques, finding the best technique for you. Depending on what you need, we can do speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. For General English students: Lessons are created specifically for your needs. A typical lesson might involve 20-30 minutes of conversation, and 1-2 grammar/vocabulary/pronunciation topics. Lessons are relaxed and try to improve your confidence.
