About Tamzin
I’m a friendly maths tutor who loves helping students build confidence and enjoy learning. I’m training to become a secondary school maths teacher and have experience teaching students of all abilities, so I know how to adapt lessons to suit every learner. I enjoy breaking down tricky topics into clear, manageable steps and seeing that moment when it clicks. My goal is to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions, practising at their own pace, and improving their skills.

My lessons are friendly, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs, with a focus on building understanding and confidence in maths. Drawing on my experience as a trainee secondary school teacher working towards QTS, I use clear explanations, worked examples, questioning, and exam-style practice to develop strong problem-solving and exam technique. Lessons typically last one hour and are carefully paced to maintain focus and make steady progress. I hold a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Bristol, with A* grades in Maths and Further Maths at GCSE and A-level. My tuition is suitable for KS3 and GCSE students of all abilities, from those needing extra support to those aiming to improve their grades. Available most evenings and Sunday mornings.
