About Emma

Learning a new language can be challenging and I remember how hard it was, at times, to come to grips with the more difficult aspects of English. Luckily, I also remember how I overcame these difficulties and how rewarding it was to finally master the idioms that I had found so frustrating.
Languages fascinate me: I love exploring all the things that can be done with them and - perhaps more importantly - I love sharing what I have discovered. This is probably why I have decided to do a Master's degree in English literature and film studies (another passion of mine); this is also the reason why I love teaching so much. Torn between becoming a researcher and a language teacher, I am currently doing both in Cambridge University, where I am brushing up a thesis project whilst teaching French to enthusiastic students.

About the lesson

Learning is a thing to be enjoyed. This is why I always make sure that my students are provided with a safe environment, in which they feel confortable enough to share their ideas and make mistakes. As can be expected from a supervisor in Cambridge University, I firmly believe that small groups and tailored teaching are what is best when it comes to learning. This means that what matters to me the most is to give you a lesson that will fit your needs and aspirations. Whether you want to perfect your language skills to boost your grades, to be able to have a proper conversation with a native speaker, or simply because you are keen to learn about another culture, I will do my absolute best to help you.

My lessons typically last an hour and I am happy to teach French or English to absolutely anyone, as I have teaching experience in both of these subjects at various levels. I taught English to secondary school students when I was a Master's student in France and I now teach French at University level in the UK.
