About Laura

Hi, I'm Laura!

I am a qualified Primary School teacher, and also graduated from University of Birmingham with a 1st Class Geography Degree in 2023.

I am a friendly, approachable and passionate tutor of 4+ years, and am committed to helping others develop their understanding and confidence with Geography!

Geography has always been my favourite subject because it is always changing and I can see what I am learning outside in the world. I am passionate about learning about issues across the world, and how we can all help to solve them into the future! It's so interesting when you can recognize how a surrounding environment was formed, and how it might change into the future!

About the lesson

I have been a GCSE and A-level Geography tutor for 4+ years, helping many students understand, excel and develop their confidence and passion for Geography, with many 5* reviews and top grades along the way!

I find the most successful lesson structure involves covering a specific topic area in small chunks, followed by past paper questions to check understanding and develop essential exam technique skills. I also use many real world examples to ensure the topics being covered are memorable and enjoyable!

I am also passionate about tailoring sessions to individual students so pupils can get the most out of their sessions and help them reach their full potential!

Laura has been a huge help for me. I was struggling in Geography at the beginning of Year 13 and after getting a C in my mocks she helped me by working through exam style questions and carefully going over my topics of weakness. She never made any questions asked seem silly and was always happy to go through things over and over, trying different ways until it made sense. With Laura’s help and patience, I felt so much more confident by the end of Year 13 and managed to secure an A!

My personal experience with Laura was amazing. I have dyslexia as well as have always had trouble formatting paragraphs and structuring my answers for long answer questions, as well as general issues with revision and keeping facts and knowledge. Laura taught me revision techniques as well as how to properly
structure my paragraph and long form answers in geography that moved me from getting Ds in my exams to getting a solid B in my a levels not being far away from an A which was amazing. Laura is an experimental tutor. Ted
