About Ana

Olá, I’m Marina, a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker and Portuguese teacher with over seven years of teaching experience.
Languages and intercultural exchange have been an important part of my life for many years. In addition to Portuguese, I speak German, English, Spanish, and Italian. This means I understand language learning not only from a teacher’s perspective, but also from personal experience. I know what it feels like to learn a new grammar system, work on pronunciation, and gain the confidence to express yourself in another language.
My academic background is in Linguistics, Literature, and Cultural Studies at TU Dresden in Germany. During my time at the university, I also gained practical experience through an internship at TU Dresden, which helped me deepen my understanding of language, communication, and intercultural learning.
I began teaching Portuguese at the Fremdsprachenschule for Everyone in Dresden, where I taught students from A1 to C1 level. Later, I increasingly focused on personalized lessons for adult learners from different countries, both online and in person.
I have also worked as a linguistic and cultural guide for German companies during educational trips to Brazil. This experience reinforced something that is very important to me: learning a language is not only about grammar and vocabulary, but also about understanding how people actually communicate in real life.
What makes my teaching approach special is the combination of solid language knowledge, international experience, cultural insight, and a personal teaching style. I want my students not only to learn Portuguese, but to feel confident enough to actually use it.
And of course, I also bring a little bit of Brazil into every lesson — its language, culture, diversity, expressions, and the way people really communicate.

About the lesson

Practical communication is at the heart of my lessons. My goal is to help you not only understand Portuguese, but also gradually feel confident and natural when speaking it.
I combine conversation practice, clear grammar explanations, pronunciation training, and useful everyday vocabulary. Each lesson is adapted to your level, learning pace, and personal goals. I explain grammar in a simple and structured way, with plenty of examples, so that you can actually use the language instead of just memorizing rules.
A typical lesson starts with a short review or a brief conversation in Portuguese. Then we focus on a new topic, such as grammar, pronunciation, or vocabulary. After that, we immediately apply what you have learned through dialogues, exercises, or realistic everyday situations. At the end, we review the most important points and clarify any questions.
I place great importance on creating a friendly, motivating, and pressure-free learning environment. Mistakes are a natural part of the learning process and help you become more confident. Since I speak several foreign languages myself, I understand many of the challenges learners face and can explain difficult structures patiently and clearly.
I teach Brazilian Portuguese to adults and teenagers, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. My lessons are especially suitable for students who want to learn Portuguese for travel, everyday life, work, family, or personal interest.
