From a University Lecturer Literary Analysis Trainin with Short Stories Master class: Composition, Academic English in Downtown Toronto

Methodology

Duration : 4 weeks, 2 lessons per week - Price : $30.00 - Place : TorontoI am a university lecturer with 18 years of experience in teaching literature, Freshman, Composition and Academic English Classes in university contexts.
I have been giving lessons for 18 years and hold two Master's Degrees one in Applied Linguistics and ELT from University of Nottingham and one in MBA. I have thought thousands of university students in three different countries; Southampton;UK, Istanbul, Turkey and Toronto; Canada.

I assist grade 11, 12 , Freshman University students in their English Studies. I also assist adult learners who like fiction and are looking for a new and natural way to advance their English and conversation skills.

You can either join (1) the Conversation Course with optional written and spoken tasks or (2) Academic, Literary Analysis Course with options of essay writing or academic presentations. Both courses used the same materials but their aims, tasks assigned and the end product differs. The tutor provides formats for sample essays and academic presentations.

In my master class we read, explore, analyze and discuss short stories, novels, and other authentic academic texts depending on the objectives of my students. We focus on the skills of analysis, evaluation, understanding implications and drawing conclusions rather than limiting ourselves to comprehension. These skills are a must in any university context.
Short stories, novels and authentic text open up different perspectives and our classes are active with discussions where there is no right or wrong answers.
